Gruvön Mill wins prize for its communications

The association for information staff in the county of Värmland awards a prize entitled Better Communication each year to an individual or company that has excelled in its information activities. This year the prize went to Billerud’s Gruvön Mill. The jury stated the following: “Billerud is a worthy winner of the 2005 Better Communication prize. Through communicative leadership the company has achieved a large amount of commitment from employees. As a result Billerud has been granted a hygiene certificate and over 80% of employees consider that the changes within the company are positive. The entire project was characterised by dialogue and co-operation throughout the organisation. Managers working in the project have understood the importance of communicative leadership at an early stage, and many positive results were achieved at many different levels. Gruvön, which is often portrayed as an organisation the follows old mill traditions, has shown strong initiative powers and shown that change and communication produce good results. Impressive team and development work that is creating new traditions!” ”It is very pleasing to receive this attention for the work we have carried out in connection with the hygiene certification project,” says Anders Snell, manager of the Gruvön Mill.
