Sustainability targets 2016
In our 2016 report, we present follow-up on thework with our sustainability targets. To ensure that our targets genuinely contribute to preventing the global temperature from rising by more than two degrees, we have also signed up for the Science Based Targets initiative, which is backed by CDP, the UN Global Compact, the World Resources Institute and the WWF. This means that our targets will be audited by external parties to ensure they live up to what is required according to research in the field.
In 2016, we checked our sustainability targets to make sure they are sufficiently ambitious and align with our three focus areas for sustainability: responsible value chain, improved customer value, and sustainable, bio-based society. We also examined how the targets can be adapted to suit the UN’s 17 targets for sustainable development in the world. As a part of our sustainability work, we make sure to collect views from the community on an ongoing basis, and maintain regular dialogues with stakeholders. BillerudKorsnäs’ key stakeholders are investors, customers, suppliers, employees and society in general. The extensive materiality analysis carried out before the 2013
report was updated in 2014 and 2015. No update to reported indicators was carried out in 2016 as an extensive materiality analysis will be carried out in 2017 as part of the transition to GRI standards. The reported indicators in this year’s report are thus the same as in the report for 2015, click here to read more.
BillerudKorsnäs is assessed continuously by numerous customers and analysts through surveys about performance and work methods. This is fully in line with our ambition to provide stakeholders with a solid basis for their evaluation of our business. Click here to read more about the external reviews.
