Lisa Jansson, Operations Development Manager

Name: Lisa Jansson

What did you study? I studied forestry at SLU (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences) and at UNBC (University of Northern British Columbia, Canada)

When were you a trainee? 2009

What role did you start with and what do you do today? I started working as a certification manager at Korsnäs forest department. My role was to implement an FSC umbrella certificate so that we could certify private forest owners and increase our share of certified wood. Today I work as an Operations Development Manager at the Mill in Frövi where mine and my teams’ role are, to support and train the organization with the implementation of our improvement programme BKOM.

What was the best part of being a trainee? That we got a really good picture of the whole company, and a good understanding of the different challenges we face. And of course, all the people we met and the network we created in the company during our times as trainees.

How has the trainee program affected your career? I think it has affected me in a very positive way, I think my time as a trainee was one of the factors that gave me the opportunity to start working in production and learn something completely new.

Why would you recommend others to apply to the trainee program? Because it is a unique opportunity to start your career at a company, you create such a good network and you also have the possibility to see different career opportunities within the company, and get an idea of what you want to do in the future!
