Louise Wohrne, Sustainability Manager
Name: Louise Wohrne
What did you study? Biotechnology, KTH (Royal Institute of Technology)
When were you a trainee? 2011
What role did you start with and what do you do today? I started as a chemical engineer trainee and right after the trainee program I worked as a process engineer. Now I work as a sustainability manager.
What was the best part of being a trainee? That you get an overview of the whole company; from forest, the mills, the business areas and sales. Also to get to know so many people outside Karlsborg (which was where I was based) is something that has been very useful for me.
How has the trainee program affected your career? It gave me ideas on what kind of roles there are in the company, and gave me a good network that I still use. I think it was also good that other people in the company knew about the trainees and heard about us, so people knew who I was thanks to the buzz around the program. It has helped me as I have moved from being placed at a mill, to working at the head office in different roles.
Would you recommend others to apply to the trainee program? Yes!
