Working within Business Development in Solna - Susanna
Hi! My name is Susanna and today the turn has come to me to tell you a bit more about what I do in my role within Business Development. As I am writing this it is a snowy Friday morning in Solna, where I am located, and I thought I would share some of the things I am up to today.
I started working here in September, and work with business development in the Containerboard business segment. In short, my role and business development is about supporting our business in order to help it develop and grow. It can include analyzing markets and trends, investigating new business opportunities and developing our existing services, to increase the value we create.

First up today was a meeting about the main project I have been working on during the fall, which is about e-commerce packaging. The project has included market research and talking to customers and consumers, in order to better understand needs and challenges posed by a growing e-commerce. The project is being wrapped up now and today’s meeting was to start planning the next steps and how to share and implement the findings.
After that meeting, being Friday and all, it was time for Friday lunch! The not-so-frequent tradition that me and my two Solna trainee colleagues have started, which simply means that we have a nice lunch together on Fridays. Quite often we end up at P, a restaurant close to the office that not only has good food, but also a dessert buffet… Anyway, it is always nice to get outside and catch up on what we have been up to lately.

One of the things we talked about was the workshop me and Christoffer attended yesterday, which was about creativity, innovation and the concept Design Thinking. It contained some good methods for creative problem-solving and was fun doing with a group of colleagues from across the company. I really appreciate that it is not only the trainee activities and trainings that I learn a lot from, but that my day-to-day job also includes interesting events.

But beside my everyday job and the occasional Friday lunch, quite a lot of my time is spent on various trainee activities that some of my colleagues have already written about. This day ended with a Skype meeting with my trainee colleagues Marcus in Gruvön and Linus in Frövi, to prepare for a presentation we will do in a few weeks at our next training module. It is always good to hear from the other trainees and what is going on in other parts of the company, both geographically and organizationally. That is one of the things I like the most about the trainee program, that we are such a diverse group in terms of roles and backgrounds, but still have a really good connection. It is always super fun to meet, and gives me support, new perspectives and knowledge.
That was all from me for now. Take care and check back soon for an update from Gruvön!
