BillerudKorsnäs Pietarsaari mill certified to FSSC 22000 food safety standard
In February 2015, BillerudKorsnäs Pietarsaari mill successfully passed the certification process according to the Food Safety System Certification Standard (FSSC 22000). The granted certificate shows the implementation of a Food Safety Management System and is associated with the requirements on good manufacturing practice. The certificate demonstrates that Pietarsaari mill has a robust Food Safety Management System in place that guarantees safe and hygienic production of packaging and kraft paper.
“Food safety certification will give the mill a competitive advantage. It meets the steadily increasing demands from customers, which entail aspects such as greater use of paper for food packaging.
