We at BillerudKorsnäs are proud of how much progress we have made in our sustainability work, but we still assume that there is potential for improvement. That is why our sustainability report is such a good tool for simultaneously mapping, assessing and powering our sustainability work.
The sustainability report is included in this Annual and Sustainability Report 2017. This is the fifth sustainability report for BillerudKorsnäs. We have chosen to follow GRI Standards in line with the ‘In-accordance’ criteria at ‘Core’ level. This means that with the support of our stakeholders, we have selected those parts of the GRI system that are ‘core components’, i.e. the most important aspects.
The Board and Senior Management Team of BillerudKorsnäs are responsible for the ongoing work in the fields of the environment, occupational health and safety, quality, CSR and sustainable development, and for preparing and presenting the sustainability report in accordance with applicable criteria.
In the Annual- and Sustainability 2017, we report the follow-up of our sustainability efforts and our sustainability targets. In order to ensure that the goals really contribute to the global temperature increase not exceeding two degrees, we have set new scientifically based climate targets, also called Science Based Targets. Behind the Science Based Targets initiative is CDP, the UN Global Compact, the World Resources Institute and WWF.
